Haifa International Flute Competition 2009

Program

  • Preliminary round- to be mailed with application- Recorded on CD.

    • Three selections of your choice:
    1. One movement from Bach's partita.
    2. Exposition from the first movement of one of Mozart's concertos.
    3. Modern composition of your choice, composed after 1960.

  • First round , Thursday- Friday, September 10th & 11th Flute solo

    • 1. C.Ph.E Bach - Sonata in A minor for solo flute Wq. 132
    2. A. Amzallag – Taksim for solo flute (1968, Israeli Music Institute)

  • Second round, Sunday - Monday September 13th & 14th

    • 1. C. Debussy - Syrinx for flute solo (required of all competitors)
    2. David Hamilton: Hine Raukatauri - prize winning work of the Haifa International Competition Competition 2007(required of all competitors)
    Music will be mailed by the Haifa Music Center With the official acceptance letter to the competition.
    3. One of the following works:
        P. Taffanel: Fantasie sur le Freischutz
        J. Demersemann: Sixieme solo de Concert op. 82
        Th. Boehm: Grand Polonaise op. 16
        F. Borne: Carmen Fantasy

  • Final round, Wednesday, September 16th


  • With the Haifa Festival Orchestra

    • W.A. Mozart:
    Concerto in G major K. 313
        or
    Concerto in D major K. 314
